NAIMA Expo 2026 Day 5: The New Four-Wheelers Making Headlines

NAIMA Expo 2026 • Day 5

Day 5 of the NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2026 brings one of the most anticipated four-wheeler developments of the exhibition: the official Nepal launch of the ArcFox T1. After its delayed arrival at the expo on Day 4, the compact electric hatchback has now taken centre stage as another new contender in Nepal's increasingly competitive EV market.

August 15 marks the fifth day of the NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2026 at Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu. With only one day remaining after today, the exhibition has entered its final weekend, and visitor interest around the four-wheeler section remains strong.

For Day 5, however, the biggest story is not simply the number of cars on display. It is the arrival of another new EV that is now officially entering the Nepali market.

ArcFox T1 officially launches in Nepal

The long-awaited ArcFox T1 has officially made its Nepal debut on Day 5 of the NAIMA Expo.

The compact electric hatchback is being introduced by Laxmi e-Mobility, which is bringing the ArcFox brand to Nepal. The T1 had already reached Kathmandu on August 14, but its official launch was scheduled for August 15, making today the vehicle's actual debut at the expo.

The T1 is one of the more interesting additions to Nepal's compact EV market because it combines hatchback proportions with crossover-inspired styling and a technology-heavy cabin.

The ArcFox T1 is being offered in two variants in Nepal, with the LV2 priced at Rs 32.96 lakh and the LV3 at Rs 35.96 lakh under the NAIMA introductory offer.

That pricing puts the T1 directly into one of the most competitive parts of Nepal's EV market, where buyers now have several choices around the Rs 30–40 lakh price range.

A new rival in the compact EV segment

The T1's arrival is significant because Nepal's compact EV market is rapidly becoming crowded.

Buyers looking below Rs 40 lakh can now choose from a growing number of electric hatchbacks and compact crossovers, each offering a different combination of price, range, technology and practicality.

ArcFox is clearly positioning the T1 around technology. The vehicle comes with a large central infotainment display, digital instrumentation and advanced driver-assistance technology, giving it a more premium feel than its price might suggest.

The T1 also uses a front-mounted electric motor and an LFP battery setup. International versions are available with different battery and motor configurations, although buyers should confirm the exact Nepal-spec equipment and battery configuration with the distributor.

Technology is a major part of the T1's appeal

The interior is one of the areas where ArcFox is trying to differentiate the T1.

The vehicle features a large 15.6-inch central touchscreen alongside a digital instrument display. Higher-spec versions also bring advanced driver-assistance functions and a 540-degree camera system.

These features are becoming increasingly common among new Chinese EVs entering Nepal, but their presence at a car priced in the mid-Rs 30 lakh range shows how quickly equipment levels are improving.

For buyers, however, the important question is whether those features work well in everyday conditions. Camera quality, software reliability and the availability of technical support can matter just as much as the number of features listed on the brochure.

The price makes the T1 particularly interesting

At Rs 32.96 lakh for the LV2 and Rs 35.96 lakh for the LV3 under the NAIMA offer, the ArcFox T1 enters a highly competitive price bracket.

This is the part of the market where buyers are particularly sensitive to differences of a few lakh rupees. A new model therefore needs to provide enough additional equipment, range or technology to justify its price against better-known alternatives.

ArcFox is taking the technology route. Rather than trying to compete purely on being the cheapest EV, the T1 is being presented as a more feature-rich option for buyers who want something different from the usual compact EV choices.

The T1 also brings a new brand into Nepal

The vehicle is important not just because of its price. It also marks the entry of ArcFox as a new passenger-vehicle brand in Nepal.

ArcFox is part of BAIC Group, and its positioning is more technology-focused than the conventional BAIC range. Bringing the brand to Nepal gives Laxmi e-Mobility another product category beyond its existing automotive portfolio.

But as with every new automotive brand, the next challenge will be after-sales support.

Buyers will want to know how widely the service network will expand, how quickly spare parts can be supplied and how the company plans to support the T1's electric powertrain over the long term.

Day 5 shows how competitive Nepal's EV market has become

The T1's launch would have been notable even a few years ago. Today, it is another example of how quickly the Nepali EV market is expanding.

A compact EV buyer now has several choices across different price points. Some focus on affordability, others on range, while newer brands are increasingly competing through technology and design.

That is forcing manufacturers to offer more for the money.

The result is visible throughout the expo. Features that were previously associated with much more expensive vehicles are now appearing on cars in the Rs 30–40 lakh segment.

What buyers should know before booking the T1

The introductory price is certainly attractive, but buyers should look beyond the number.

Before booking, it is worth confirming the exact battery capacity, official range rating, charging equipment, warranty coverage and service arrangements for the Nepal-spec vehicle.

Buyers should also ask whether the quoted price includes the complete set of expo benefits and what the final on-road cost will be after registration and insurance.

Most importantly, the distributor's long-term plans for ArcFox in Nepal should be considered. A new vehicle can have excellent specifications, but ownership ultimately depends on the support available after delivery.

Day 5 is about another serious EV contender

With the ArcFox T1 now officially launched, the compact EV segment has gained another serious competitor.

Its combination of a sub-Rs 36 lakh introductory price, modern styling and technology-focused equipment gives it a clear position in the market.

The bigger question is how buyers respond once the initial excitement of the expo fades. The T1 will have to compete not only against other new EVs but also against established brands with existing customer bases and service networks.

The honest read

Day 5 has delivered one of the four-wheeler developments that many visitors had been waiting for.

The ArcFox T1 has moved from being an anticipated arrival to an officially launched vehicle, giving Nepali buyers another option in the increasingly crowded compact EV segment.

Its introductory pricing is aggressive, and its technology package gives it a clear identity. But the real test will come after the expo, when buyers begin living with the vehicle and the brand has to prove that its service and support can match the product itself.

For now, the T1 adds another interesting choice to a Nepali EV market that is becoming more competitive with every new launch.
