NAIMA Expo 2026 Day 4: New Cars, Prices and What Buyers Are Looking At
NAIMA Expo 2026 • Day 4
Day 4 of the NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2026 is here, and the focus is shifting from simply seeing new cars to actually deciding which ones are worth booking. Among today's biggest four-wheeler stories is the Kia Syros EV, which has opened bookings in Nepal, while the much-awaited ArcFox T1 has finally arrived at the expo venue ahead of its planned launch.
August 14 marks the fourth day of the six-day NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2026 at Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu. After three busy days of launches and unveilings, the atmosphere is becoming increasingly buyer-focused.
Visitors now have a better idea of what the major brands are offering, and attention is moving toward prices, booking offers, specifications, range and, most importantly, whether these new four-wheelers make sense for the Nepali market.
Kia Syros EV opens for bookings
The biggest four-wheeler development on Day 4 is the opening of bookings for the Kia Syros EV.
Kia Nepal has opened bookings for the electric SUV at a listed price of Rs 37.90 lakh. However, customers booking during the NAIMA Expo can get the first 100 units at a special introductory price of Rs 35.90 lakh.
The Syros EV has already generated strong interest at the expo. By Day 4, more than 200 units had reportedly been pre-booked, making it one of the most talked-about four-wheelers at this year's exhibition.
The response is particularly notable because the Syros EV sits in one of the most competitive parts of Nepal's electric vehicle market. At an introductory price of Rs 35.90 lakh, it enters a segment where buyers can already choose between several compact electric cars and SUVs.
Why the Syros EV matters
The Syros EV is important for Kia because it brings the brand deeper into the mainstream electric SUV market in Nepal.
Rather than competing only in the premium segment, Kia is now targeting buyers looking for a relatively compact electric SUV at a price below Rs 40 lakh.
The introductory booking price makes the proposition even more interesting. The difference between the regular Rs 37.90 lakh price and the NAIMA offer is Rs 2 lakh, although the special price is limited to the first 100 customers.
For buyers considering the vehicle, however, the booking price should not be the only consideration. Battery capacity, charging capability, real-world range, warranty and after-sales support will ultimately determine how competitive the Syros EV is once deliveries begin.
ArcFox T1 finally arrives at the expo
Another important four-wheeler development on August 14 is the arrival of the ArcFox T1 in Kathmandu.
The compact electric vehicle had been expected to make its Nepal debut at the NAIMA Expo, but its arrival was delayed because of transportation difficulties. The vehicle has now reached Kathmandu, with its official launch scheduled for August 15.
That means the T1 is not being counted as a Day 4 launch. However, its arrival is still one of today's most significant four-wheeler developments because it sets up one of the major launches expected on Day 5.
The T1 is expected to compete in the increasingly crowded compact EV segment, where buyers are already comparing models based on price, range, equipment and brand support.
Day 4 is becoming a buyer's day
With most of the major vehicles already unveiled during the earlier days of the expo, today's visitors are able to spend more time comparing cars rather than simply waiting for launches.
The four-wheeler section is particularly busy with buyers looking at electric hatchbacks, compact SUVs, larger electric SUVs and conventional vehicles. The growing number of EV options means customers now have to make much more detailed comparisons.
Price is obviously important, but it is no longer the only deciding factor.
Buyers are increasingly looking at battery size, claimed range, charging speed, safety features, interior technology and warranty coverage. For newer brands, the availability of service centres and spare parts is also becoming an important part of the conversation.
The Rs 30–40 lakh EV market gets more competitive
The Kia Syros EV's introductory price of Rs 35.90 lakh makes the competition in the lower and mid-range EV market even more interesting.
Buyers in this price bracket now have several options from different manufacturers, with each brand trying to differentiate its vehicle through design, equipment, range or ownership benefits.
This is good news for consumers. More competition means brands have less room to rely purely on their badge. They need to provide a convincing overall package.
For buyers, however, more choice also means more homework. A vehicle with a lower starting price may not necessarily be cheaper to own, while a vehicle with a longer claimed range may not necessarily provide better real-world usability.
What buyers should check before booking
With special expo offers being announced across the four-wheeler section, it can be tempting to make a booking simply because the price looks attractive.
But buyers should first ask for the complete on-road price and confirm what is included in the promotional offer.
EV buyers should also ask about battery warranty, charging equipment, charging support and service coverage. For newer brands, it is worth checking where the nearest authorised service centre is and how spare parts will be supplied.
These details may not be as exciting as a large infotainment screen or an impressive range figure, but they will matter much more once the car is being used every day.
The four-wheeler story on August 14
Day 4 does not have the same number of headline launches as the opening days, but that does not make it any less important.
The Kia Syros EV has moved from being a vehicle on display to a car customers can actually book, and the response has already been strong. More than 200 pre-bookings by the fourth day show that there is significant interest in Kia's new electric SUV.
At the same time, the arrival of the ArcFox T1 gives visitors another reason to keep an eye on the final days of the expo, even though its official launch is scheduled for tomorrow.
The honest read
Day 4 of NAIMA 2026 is less about unveiling a huge number of new cars and more about seeing which cars are actually attracting buyers.
The Kia Syros EV is currently one of the clearest examples. Its Rs 35.90 lakh introductory price and more than 200 pre-bookings show that buyers are responding to the combination of a familiar brand, electric powertrain and competitive pricing.
The arrival of the ArcFox T1 also shows how quickly the EV market is expanding. Even before its official launch, it is already part of the conversation among buyers looking for a compact electric vehicle.
As Day 4 continues, the biggest takeaway is simple: the Nepali four-wheeler market is becoming more competitive, and buyers have more choices than ever.
But with more choices comes the need to compare carefully. The best deal at NAIMA 2026 will not necessarily be the car with the lowest introductory price. It will be the one that offers the right balance of price, range, features, reliability and long-term ownership support.
